3 Things you should know before taking pictures in Barcelona

Hi there!

I’m Svetlana, Barcelona based lifestyle and Brand photographer. I’ve been working in this beautiful city for 10 years, and I know all the details—not just about the best locations and lighting, but also other tips to help you enjoy taking pictures here, whether you hire a professional or do it yourself 📸

Let me assure you that having a photoshoot in Barcelona is one of the best memories you can bring home! ☺️

But here are 3 things you should know though:

1. Watch Out for Pickpockets!

Unfortunately, pickpocketing is a thing here. It’s not about the danger, but you have to be mindful if you have valuable things.

Just don’t leave your purse or anything else on the ground without paying attention to it. Also, keep an eye on your belongings in general because sometimes they work in teams, and someone can distract you with a question while another person steals your phone or something else.

2. Crowds.

Barcelona is a tourist magnet, so it’s pretty much crowded all year long. If you want to take pictures in a calm environment without people around, go early in the morning right after sunrise, and you’ll have the best time! 🥳

As a professional photographer, I can make it look like there are no people around, even in crowds, by choosing the right angles and using my secret tricks😎But if you’re not a pro, try to go in the morning!

3. Explore Beyond Park Guell and Sagrada Familia.

Yes, these are the most iconic places in the city, but there are so many more incredible locations that are less touristy.

For example, check out Ciutadella Park, the Greek Theatre, or the Cactus Park. You can inquire about your photoshoot, and I’ll send you the full list! 👌

I hope you found these tips helpful.
